Overview

This document (DIN EN ISO 1927-2) gives guidance on the sampling of unshaped refractory materials for the purpose of inspection and testing for quality and general information on the reduction and treatment of samples prior to testing. It covers all unshaped refractory materials. This document (DIN EN ISO 1927-2) specifies the methods for the characterization of unshaped refractory materials as received and for checking the homogeneity of a delivery of a product. It is applicable to castables (dense and insulating), gunning materials tap hole clay and ramming materials, as defined in DIN EN ISO 1927-1. The International Standard (ISO 1927-2) has been prepared by ISO/TC 33 "Refractories" and has been adopted as EN ISO 1927-2 by CEN/TC 187 "Refractory products and materials", the secretariat of which is held by BSI (United Kingdom). The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 062-02-57 AA "Ungeformte, dichte geformte und wärmedämmende feuerfeste Erzeugnisse und Werkstoffe" ("Unshaped, dense shaped and insulating refractory products and materials") at NMP.
