Standards [Withdrawn]

DIN EN ISO 7438
Metallic materials - Bend test (ISO 7438:2005); German version EN ISO 7438:2005

Title (German)

Metallische Werkstoffe - Biegeversuch (ISO 7438:2005); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 7438:2005

Overview

This International Standard specifies a method for determining the ability of metallic materials to undergo plastic deformation in bending. This International Standard applies to test pieces taken from metallic products, as specified in the relevant product standard. It is not applicable to certain materials or products, for example tubes in full section or welded joints, for which other standards exist. This standard differs from DIN EN ISO 7438:2000-07 as follows: a) determination of the bend angle (previous National Annex NA); b) indication of the rate of testing in case of dispute (previous National Annex NA); c) modification of the structure. Compared with DIN EN ISO 7438:2005-10, the following corrections have been made: a) in subclause 6.3, 3rd paragraph, the testing rate in case of dispute has been corrected to read (1 ± 0,2) mm/s instead of (1 ± 0,2) m/s); b) editorial revision; c) National foreword has been supplemented. ISO 7438:2005 has been prepared by Committee ISO/TC 164/SC 2 "Ductility testing" and has been adopted as European Standard EN ISO 7438:2005 by Technical Committee ECISS/TC 1 (secretariat: AFNOR (France)) within the framework of the Parallel Procedure. Regarding the German collaboration and translation, Working Committee NMP 142 "Prüfverfahren mit zügiger Beanspruchung für Metalle" ("Test methods with rapid loading for metals") at the Materials Testing Standards Committee is responsible.
