DIN ISO 15665
Acoustics - Acoustic insulation for pipes, valves and flanges (ISO 15665:2003 + Cor. 1:2004)
Akustik - Schalldämmung von Rohren, Ventilen und Flanschen (ISO 15665:2003 + Cor. 1:2004)
Overview
The standard defines a measurement method and design requirements for various levels of acoustic insulation with regard to pipes, valves and connection flanges. This is done with the intent of a cost-effective reduction of the sound emitted by these elements. Furthermore, it gives different examples of construction to achieve an effective acoustic insulation. This specific planning and calculation standard is primarily directed at planners of piping systems and environmental experts. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 001-02-03 AA "Schallausbreitung und Lärmminderung in Gebäuden, in Arbeitsstätten und im Freien" ("Sound propagation and noise control in buildings and workplaces, and outdoors") at DIN. This German Standard is based on ISO 15665, which was published by ISO/TC 43/SC 1 in 2003-06. NA 001-02-03 AA has decided to adopt this International Standard into the German body of standards. This German standard also includes, in addition to the content of ISO 15665:2003-06, its Corrigendum 1, which was published as ISO 15665 Technical Corrigendum 1 in 2004-03. Furthermore, national footnotes refer to further corrections which are necessary from the perspective of NA 001-02-03 AA.
