Testing of floor coverings - Determination of the anti-slip property - Workrooms and fields of activities with slip danger, walking method - Ramp test
Prüfung von Bodenbelägen - Bestimmung der rutschhemmenden Eigenschaft - Arbeitsräume und Arbeitsbereiche mit Rutschgefahr, Begehungsverfahren - Schiefe Ebene
Overview
This standard specifies a method which serves as a suitability test for the determination and classification of anti-slip properties of floor coverings intended to be used in workrooms and fields of activities with slip danger. It also specifies a method for measuring the displacement volume of floor coverings with a profiled surface. A test person with test shoes walks forwards and backwards in an upright position over the floor covering to be tested, the slope of which is increased from the initial horizontal state to the acceptance angle. The acceptance angle is determined on floor coverings on which a lubricant has been applied. The average acceptance angle reached serves to assess the degree of anti-slip. Subjective influences on the acceptance angle are limited by a calibration method. The standard is intended to be used by manufacturers of floor coverings as well as independent test laboratories. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 062-08-82 AA "Prüfung der rutschhemmenden Eigenschaft von Bodenbelägen" ("Testing of the anti-slip property of floor coverings") at DIN.
