Testing of surface active agents - Pendant drop method
Abstract
This document describes an optical method for determining the surface tension of liquids using the pendant drop method, it draws attention to possible difficulties and shows possible solutions. It thus provides helpful instructions that even non-experts can use to obtain high-quality measurement results. This document also provides information on the scientific context of drop shape analysis. The method can be used in particular to characterize aqueous solutions of low molecular weight or polymeric surfactants.
