DIN 65946
Aerospace series - Determination of coefficients of friction of bolts and nuts under specific conditions; Text in German and English
Luft- und Raumfahrt - Bestimmung der Reibungszahlen von Schrauben und Muttern unter festen Bedingungen; Text Deutsch und Englisch
Overview
This standard defines a test for determining the coefficients of friction when tightening bolts and nuts under specified conditions. It only applies for tests that have a comparative character, such as for determining coefficients of friction for various surface versions or for assessing different lubricants. Application-relevant tightening tests concerning coefficients of friction in threaded fasteners of certain assemblies are not described in detail due to the special requirements within the scope of this standard. This standard is based on the established assumption that a linear relation exists between the torque, clamp force and coefficient of friction over the entire measuring range. This document applies for aerospace applications. DIN EN ISO 16047 applies for applications in general industry.
