Overview
The DIN EN 3646 series of standards the properties of electrical circular connectors with bayonet coupling for aerospace applications at operating temperatures of up to 175 °C or 200 °C continuous. It applies to models defined in Table 4. For contact, filler plugs and rear accessories associated with this receptacle see EN 3646-002. For plugs and protective covers see EN 3646-008 and EN 3646-009 respectively. This standard differs from the previous edition DIN EN 3646-004:2013-08 as follows: a) in Table 1 for G the minimum dimension has been specified instead of the previous maximum dimension; b) in Table 2 the tightening torques have been changed. The standards of the EN 3646 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the Associated Organization (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 3 October 1986. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Electrical Connectors") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
