Overview
The EN 4644 series of standards describes modular rectangular electrical and optical connectors with rectangular inserts, operating temperature 175 °C (or 125 °C) continuous. The connectors described in this standard are suitable for use on board commercial and military aircraft for panel and rack application under rough environmental conditions. Part 012 specifies the size 1 receptacle for disconnect applications used in the family of modular rectangular electrical and optical connector with rectangular inserts. The plugs corresponding to this receptacle are defined in EN 4644-011 and EN 4644-013. The standards of the EN 4644 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the aerospace sector. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Electrical connectors") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
