Aerospace series - Connectors, electrical, circular, scoop proof, triple start threaded coupling, operating temperature 175 °C or 200 °C continuous - Part 001: Technical specification; German and English version EN 3645-001:2015
Luft- und Raumfahrt - Elektrische Rundsteckverbinder, kontaktgeschützt, dreigängige Gewinde-Schnellkupplung, Betriebstemperatur 175 °C oder 200 °C konstant - Teil 001: Technische Lieferbedingungen; Deutsche und Englische Fassung EN 3645-001:2015
Overview
Standard series DIN EN 3645 describes the general characteristics, the conditions for qualification, acceptance and quality assurance, as well as the test programs and groups for threaded ring coupling circular connectors, fire-resistant, intended for use in a temperature range from -65 °C to 175 °C continuous or 200 °C continuous according to the classes. This family of connectors is derived from MIL-DTL-38999 series III, with which it is intermateable and interchangeable. It is particularly suitable for use in zones of severe environmental conditions on board aircraft, applying EN 2282. The new edition of Part 001 specifies the general characteristics, the conditions for qualification, acceptance and quality assurance, as well as the test programs and groups for threaded ring coupling circular connectors, fire-resistant, intended for use in a temperature range from -65 °C to 175 °C continuous or 200 °C continuous according to the classes. This family of connectors is derived from MIL-DTL-38999 series III, with which it is intermateable and interchangeable. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN EN 3645-001:2013-06: a) MIL-STD-1560B has been incorporated into the normative references; b) in 6.3, Table 3, Plug - Dimensions, the diameter sizes have been changed and a particular distinction has been made for connectors made of metallic or composite materials; c) in 6.5.1, different detail images for metallic and composite housings and a further detail image for an optional form were added and the key expanded accordingly; d) in 6.5.2, the contact arrangements to be applied for Figure 6 have been changed; e) the following figures have been marked for quadrax contacts and accordingly figuratively he supplemented: Figure 8, Figure 11, Figure 8, Figure 37; modifications to the arrangements have been made for the following figures: Figure 10, Figure 12, Figure 13, Figure 20, Figure 25, Figure 30, Figure 33, Figure 35, Figure 36, Figure 41, Figure 45, Figure 52, Figure 56, Figure 59, Figure 60, Figure 62, Figure 63, Figure 68, Figure 69, Figure 72, Figure 73, Figure 74 as well as Figure 76; the contact arrangement in Figure 42 has been incorporated in Figure 42; f) the tests in Clause 7 have been partly modified, expanded and/or concretized, Table 13 with additional fluids for QPL approved manufacturers has been added; g) in 8.2 the qualification requirements have been modified so that it is taken into account if manufacturers in MIL-DTL-38999-QPL are given. Various test programmes have been incorporated for this case and combinations with arrangements which are contained or not contained in MIL-STD-1560. The previous test programme for manufacturers not listed in the MIL-DTL-38999-QPL has been revised; recognition of MIL-DTL-38999 was also included in 8.3 regarding maintenance of the qualification, the role of the original parts manufacturer has been described in detail and fuel-resistant classes were considered; i) the routine tests during production in 8.4 have been expanded and a method for testing plating adhesion has been incorporated; j) 8.6 for the handling of assembly plants of the Original Component Manufacturer has been newly incorporated; k) the specifications for the designation in 9.2 have been incorporated in the standard. The EN 3645 standard series has been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the associated body (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 1986-10-03. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") at the DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
