Overview

The EN 4608 series of standards describes requirements for fire-resistant, single and twisted multicore electrical cables, screened (braided) and jacketed, for use in aircraft electrical systems. Part 004 specifies the characteristics of lightweight fire proof, screened, electrical cables for use at operating temperature between - 65 °C and 260 °C. These cables are UV Laser printable in accordance with EN 3838. The standards of the EN 4608 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Aerospace Standards Committee (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the aerospace sector. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-02 AA "Elektrische Leitungen" ("Electric cables") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
