Overview
The DIN EN 3645 series of standards specifies the characteristics of protective covers for plugs in the family of circular electrical connectors with triple start threaded coupling for aerospace applications at operating temperatures of up to 175 °C or 200 °C constant. The new edition of Part 006 defines the characteristics of protective caps for fixed connectors in the family of electrical circular connectors with triple start threaded coupling. It applies to the types W, F, K and Z specified in Table 2. For the fixed connectors see EN 3645-003, EN 3645-004, EN 3645-005, EN 3645-009 and EN 3645-010. These connectors are derived from and interchangeable with models W, F, K and Z in specification MIL-DTL-38999/33. Compared to the previous edition DIN EN 3645-006:2008-07, the following changes were made: a) in Figure 1, an additional item number was added and the legend revised; b) in Table 1, column E has been subdivided by a second column in order to clearly represent the maximum and minimum values and the design Z was assigned to the dimensions; c) in the designation block in Clause 5, the fastening type was assigned a reference to Table 4; d) Table 2, the design Z made of zinc-nickel-coated aluminum alloy was added; e) Table 4 with fastening types was newly included in the standard. The standards of the EN 3645 series are prepared by ASD-STAN, Department of Electrical Engineering, with the collaboration of German experts from the DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the aerospace sector. The responsible German standardization body is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Electrical Connectors" at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace. By agreement of 3 October 1986, ASD became the Associated Organization (ASB) of CEN. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Electrical Connectors" at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
