DIN Standards Committee Aerospace

Overview

The standards of the EN 2997 series describe electrical connectors, circular, coupled by threaded ring, fire-resistant or non fire-resistant, operating temperatures -65 °C to 175 °C continuous or 200 °C continuous, 260 °C peak. The new edition of Part 010 specifies the characteristics of protective covers for plugs in the family of circular electrical connectors coupled by threaded ring. It applies to the classes K, R, W and KE which are specified in the standard in Table 2. For plugs associated with these dummy receptacles, see EN 2997-008. The following modification have been made with respect to DIN EN 2997-010:2011-03: a) in Figure 1 the diameter values for the eyelet have been increased and key items 8 and 9 have been added; b) in 4.2 information on the protective cover parts have been added; c) Table 3 with the types of attachment was added in Clause 5, the corresponding listing in the designation example was deleted. The standards of the EN 2997 standard series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") at the DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
