DIN EN 2794-004
Aerospace series - Circuit breakers, single-pole, temperature compensated, rated currents 20 A to 50 A - Part 004: UNC thread terminals - Product standard; German and English version EN 2794-004:2014
Luft- und Raumfahrt - Schutzschalter, einpolig, temperaturkompensiert, Nennströme von 20 A bis 50 A - Teil 004: UNC-Klemmengewinde - Produktnorm; Deutsche und Englische Fassung EN 2794-004:2014
Overview
The series of standards EN 2794 describes the requirements for single-pole circuit breakers, temperature compensated with a rated current from 20 A to 50 A, used in aircraft on-board circuits. The new edition of Part 004 specifies the characteristics of single-pole circuit breakers, temperature compensated with a rated current from 20 A to 25 A, with UNC thread terminals, used in aircraft on-board circuits between -55 °C and 125 °C and at an altitude of 15 000 m maximum. These circuit breakers are operated by a push-pull type single push button (actuator), with delayed action "trip-free" tripping. They will continue to function up to the short-circuit current. Compared to the previous edition of DIN EN 2794-004:1999-08, the following modifications have been made: a) in the scope, the reference for use in aircraft with electrical supplies in accordance with EN 2282 has been deleted; b) the structure and contents of the standard have been changed and enlarged fundamentally, instead of the former Clause 4 Required characteristics, Clause 4 for Dimensions and mass and Clause 5 Characteristics have been added, the clauses regarding the data of connection elements have been deleted with reference to EN 6113; c) in addition to the numerous statements regarding materials, surface treatment, mechanical characteristics and environment characteristics, with 5.4 a clause with various tables regarding the electrical characteristics has been introduced; d) for the identification block in Clause 6, Table 8 regarding the rated current code in Clause 7 and Clause 8 with delivery hardware codes have been introduced; e) in Clause 9, extended marking requirements and in Clause 10, a statement regarding the technical specification have been added. The standards of the series EN 2794 are prepared by ASD-STAN, Department of Electrical Engineering, with the collaboration of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standards body is Working Committee NA 131-04-05 AA "Schalter, Relais und Schutzgeräte" ("Switch, relays and protection devices") at the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
