DIN Standards Committee Aerospace

Overview

The EN 2267 standard series describes requirements for single core and/or multicore electrical cables for use in the on-board electrical systems of aircraft at operating temperatures between -55 °C and 260 °C. The new edition of Part 009 specifies the characteristics of electrical lightweight wires DRA family for use in the on-board 115 V (phase to neutral) or 200 V (phase to phase) electrical systems of aircraft at operating temperatures between -65 °C and 260 °C. These cables are demonstrated to be arc resistant in sizes 001 to 020 (26 AWG to 14 AWG). The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN EN 2267-009:2006-10: - the voltage intended for the cables has been specified 115 V (phase to neutral) or 200 V (phase to phase), the temperature application range has been extended to -65 °C; - in Table 2, reference is made to method 1 for test EN 3475-407 "Flammability"; - in Table 2, test EN 3475-603 "Resistance to wet arc tracking" is marked as to be applied; - in Table 3, single core cables have been extended by EN reference EN 2267-009AxA and the associated code designation DRR. The standards of the EN 2267 standard series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrical, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-04 AA "Elektrische Leitungen" ("Electric cables") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
