Overview

The standards of the EN 2591 series describe test methods for elements of electrical and optical connection for aerospace applications. The new edition of Part 403 specifies a method of determining the ability of elements of connection to withstand sinusoidal or random vibrations of specified severities. This test is based on EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-64. The standard shall be used together with EN 2591-100. The following modifications have been made with respect to the previous edition DIN EN 2591-403:1998-10: the test method has been modified, reference is made to EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-64 and the standard has been editorially revised. The standards of the EN 2591 series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
