Overview
The EN 4644 standard series describes modular rectangular electrical and optical connectors with rectangular inserts, operating temperature 175 °C (or 125 °C) continuous. The connectors described in this standard are suitable for use on board of commercial and military aircraft for panel and rack application under rough environmental conditions. Part 131 specifies the size plug 3 for rack and panel applications used in the family of modular rectangular electrical and optical connector with rectangular inserts, operating temperature 175 °C (or 125 °C) continuous. The receptacle corresponding to this plug is defined in EN 4644-133. The standards of the DIN 4644 series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
