Overview
This Technical Specification establishes security requirements for products and technical components used by Trust Service Providers (TSPs) to issue and manage certificates and electronic timestamps within the meaning of Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 July 2014 on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market and repealing Directive 1999/93/EC [Reg.910/2014/EU]. The requirements were partly influenced by the Common Criteria (CC) Part 2, but the specification itself is not compliant with the Common Criteria. Therefore, this specification cannot be used to certify products with regard to the Common Criteria. This specification will replace CWA 14167-1, whereas the other parts of CWA 14167 will be incorporated into the CEN/TS 419221 series. This specification has been prepared by CEN/TC 224/WG 17. The responsible German mirror committee is NA 043-01-17-04 UA "Austauschprotokolle bei Chip-Karten" ("Exchange protocols for integrated circuit cards").
