DIN EN 13710
European Ordering Rules - Ordering of characters from Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Georgian and Armenian scripts; German version EN 13710:2011
Europäische Sortierregeln - Sortierung von lateinischen, griechischen, kyrillischen, georgischen und armenischen Schriftzeichen; Deutsche Fassung EN 13710:2011
Overview
This European Standard specifies rules for the ordering of multi-lingual lists in an intuitive sequence. These rules are intended for data from different European languages which shall be brought into a calculable sequence to make it simpler for users with different cultural background to find sought-out information. These ordering rules have been checked in two preceeding specifications and have been used as far as this is possible: ENV 13710:2000-12 "European ordering rules - Ordering of characters from the Latin, Greek, Cyrillic scripts" and CR 14400:2001-2 "European Ordering Rules - Ordering for Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Georgian and Armenian scripts". This European Standard consolidates both documents into a technically generally upwardly compatible standard. The Committee responsible for this standard is Committee NA 043-01-29-01 AK "Codierte Zeichensätze" ("Coded character sets") at DIN.
