Overview
This document (DIN EN ISO 16484-6:2014) provides a standardized test method in order to test an implementation of the BACnet protocol for its conformance to protocol standard DIN EN ISO 16484-5. This happens for all functions specified for this implementation by the manufacturer in the "Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement", the so-called PICS. This standard contains an extensive number of test procedures with which correct implementation of each function specified in the PICS, such as a) support of each specified BACnet service, be that as initiator, executor, or both; b) support of each specified BACnet object type, including the required and specified optional object properties; c) support of the BACnet Network Layer Protocol); d) support of each specified data security layer protocol and e) support of all specified special function. This document (DIN EN ISO 16484-6:2014) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 205 "Building environment design", in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 247 "Building Automation, Controls and Building Management" (secretariat: Switzerland), with the participation of German experts. The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 041-03-68 AA "Gebäudeautomation und -kommunikation (SpA CEN/TC 247/WG 4)" ("Building automation and communication (Mirror committee CEN/TC 247/WG 4)") at the Standards Committee for Heating and Ventilation (NHRS). This standard (DIN EN ISO 16484-6:2014) adopts the English original text of ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 135.1 "BACnet - A Data Communication Protocol for Building Automation and Control Networks", 2011 edition. When updating EN ISO 164884-6, modifications and extensions of ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 135.1 published in the meantime or still to be published are intended to be adopted in the same manner.
