Overview

DIN 1946-6 applies to the natural ventilation and fan-assisted ventilation of dwellings and similarly used groups of rooms (dwelling units). It describes the ventilation components or units for natural ventilation systems and fan-assisted ventilation systems required for the planning, design and commissioning, operation and maintenance, making due allowance for aspects of construction engineering physics, ventilating, hygiene and energy utilization. The standard has been published in 2009 and was of great interest. A supplement has been prepared now for the interested user. Supplement 1 contains, in addition to DIN 1946-6, exemplary calculations for the design of typical ventilation systems. The description was made by means of a form from Annex J of DIN 1946-6. The supplement has been prepared by Working Committee NA 041-02-51 AA "Lüftung von Wohnungen" ("Residential ventilation") of the Heating and Ventilation Technology Standards Committee (NHRS).
