Overview

This document (DIN SPEC 15240) defines, based on DIN EN 15239, DIN EN 15240 and DIN EN 15243 and taking into account DIN V 18599, a procedure suitable for energetic inspection of air conditioning and ventilation systems in non-residential systems. DIN SPEC 15240 specifies contents and minimum requirements for energetic inspection in accordance with EnEV. It applies for the following systems: air-conditioning systems with a cooling output of more than 12 kW and ventilation systems in non-residential buildings (according to EnEV 2009 not obligatory). DIN SPEC 15240 does not describe activities carried out within the framework of the function-conserving maintenance (service, inspection, etcetera). Regular service is the basis for the execution of the energetic inspection in accordance with this prestandard. Qualification of the acting persons or organizations is not described by DIN SPEC 15240. The frequency of the energetic inspection is specified in EnEV. The activities necessary for the energetic inspection of residential ventilation systems are not dealt with DIN SPEC 15240, they are fully described in DIN 1946-6:2009-05, clause 12 and Annex E. This document (DIN SPEC 15240) has been prepared by Working Committee NA 041-05-02 AA "Auslegung und Berechnung" ("Dimensioning and calculation") at the Heating and Ventilation Standards Committee (NHRS).
