DIN Standards Committee Heating and Ventilation Technology and their Safety

About NHRS

According to the statues, the DIN Standards Committee for Heating and Ventilation (NHRS) is an organ of DIN. The NHRS is responsible for the elaboration of all standardization projects relating to heating and ventilation systems and their components (including control and safety appliances) according to DIN 820. It participates in the European and international standardization activities within its field. Moreover, it is the task of the NHRS to support the dissemination and application of standards. Excluded from the scope of the NHRS are standardization projects relating to control and safety appliances for industrial process technology that are elaborated in co-operation and under the project leadership of Division 9 "Process measurement and control technologies" of the DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE.

Basic standards that specify dimensions, materials, tests and fitting installations are equally excluded from the scope of the NHRS as they are covered by the DIN Standards Committee Valves (NAA). Standardization projects of common interest to Section 2 "Ventilation" of NHRS and the "General ventilation" Section of the DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM) are required to be timely coordinated with a view to deciding on work allocation (i.e. project leadership) before starting a new project. In cases where both the NHRS and another Standards Committee take interest in the same standardization project, these committees are jointly responsible for the standard concerned.
