Overview
This European Standard specifies test methods for the determination of characteristics of melamine faced boards (MFB). The test methods from EN 438-2:2016 for decorative high-pressure laminates (HPL) have been taken into account compared to DIN EN 14323:2004-06. The light source for determining surface defects and stain resistance as well as the principle for determining the behavior under scratching stress have been changed. The determination of abrasion resistance has been modified and the behavior towards cigarette burns deleted. DIN committee NA 042-02-15 AA "Holzwerkstoffe - Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 112 und ISO/TC 89" ("Wood-based panels - Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 112 and ISO/TC 89") is responsible for this standard.
