DIN Standards Committee Timber and Furniture

Overview

This standard specifies safety requirements and test methods for height-adjustable, swivel industry work chairs. It applies to industry work chairs in the commercial sector, for example in production, assembly, manufacturing, clean rooms and laboratories, and areas in which electrostatic discharges pose an increased risk. It does not apply to standing aids, stools, and office and household chairs. The test requirements in Annex A take into account eight hours of daily use by persons weighing up to 110 kg. Additional loads, masses and cycles for functional tests are given in Annex B. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 042-05-19 AA "Anforderungen an Büromöbel, SpA CEN/TC 207/WG 3, ISO/TC 136/WG 1 und WG 2" ("Requirements for office furniture, mirror committee CEN/TC 207/WG 3, ISO/TC 136/WG 1 and WG 2") at DIN Standards Committee Timber and Furniture (NHM).
