Wood preservatives - Determination of toxic values against Reticulitermes species (European termites) (Laboratory method); German version EN 117:2012
Holzschutzmittel - Bestimmung der Grenze der Wirksamkeit gegenüber Reticulitermes-Arten (Europäische Termiten) (Laboratoriumsverfahren); Deutsche Fassung EN 117:2012
Overview
This standard specifies a method for the determination of the toxic values of a wood preservative against the Reticulitermes species of European termites. The method is applicable to water-insoluble chemicals which are being studied as active insecticides; organic water-dispersible formulations as supplied or as prepared in the laboratory by dilution of concentrates; and water-soluble materials, for example salts. With respect to DIN EN 117:2005-06 the number of treated test specimens was changed to at least five test specimens for each concentration of the product and the limiting values to determine the toxic values of a preservative were changed. The example in Table A.1 has been changed accordingly. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 042-03-06 AA "Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 38 und ISO/TC 165/SC 1 Dauerhaftigkeit von Holz und Holzprodukten" ("Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 38 and ISO/TC 165/SC 1 Durability of wood and wood-based products") at DIN.
