DIN Standards Committee Timber and Furniture

Abstract

This document specifies a test procedure for verifying the surface quality of furniture surfaces. Defects such as open porosity due to incomplete hardening of the resins, hairline cracks, etc. are assessed. The range of application applies to melamine resin coated furniture surfaces consisting of: - Continuous Pressed Laminate, CPL: according to DIN EN 438-1 or manufacturer's specification; - High Pressure Laminate, HPL: decorative high pressure laminate according to DIN EN 438-1; - Melamined Faced Board, MFB: melamine-coated boards according to DIN EN 14322.
