Strength grading of wood - Part 1: Coniferous sawn timber
Abstract
This document is applicable to softwood lumber for load-bearing components. It specifies grading characteristics and classes as a prerequisite for the determination and application of calculation values for design according to e.g. DIN EN 1995-1-1. Two methods can be used for grading: - visually (according to section 6); - visually with instrumental support (according to Section 7). This document fulfills the minimum requirements of DIN EN 14081-1.
