Ladders - Part 8: Ladders with a separate platform
Abstract
This document specifies specific design characteristics, requirements and testing for a product comprising a ladder consisting of two parts and one separate platform where the platform height in the position of use is no higher than 1 m, with a maximum span of 1,5 m, and the platform is intended for use by one person at a time. The maximum total load is 150 kg. The ladder can have more than two parts and can be used without the platform. This document is intended to be used in conjunction with EN 131 1:2015+A1:2019, EN 131 2:2010+A2:2017 and EN 131 3:2018. To cover all the relevant safety requirements for the products(s) in its scope, this document (providing general/common requirements for a whole ladder family) is intended to be applied together with one of those standards as specified in the scope (providing specific requirements for a particular category of ladder within this family). This document is not applicable to: - mobile access and working towers which are specified in EN 1004 1:2020 ; - products consisting of two separate ladders.
