The US-standard MIL-DTL-83526/21C "Connector, fibre optic, circular hermaphroditic, bulkhead, low profile strain relief, jam-nut mount, 2 and 4 positions, expanded beam with Amendment 1" has been adopted in this German standard without amendments. This standard contains the German translation as well as the original English text of the US standard. Connectors complying with this standard are subject to qualification approval according to VG 95211. The committee responsible for the standard is NA 140-00-14-01 UA "Steckverbinder und Steckvorrichtungen" ("Electrical connectors and plug-and-socket devices") of the Electrical Engineering Standards Committee (NE) at DIN.
