Overview

This standard applies in conjunction with the generic specification VG 96956-2 for nickel-metal hydride batteries used in the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces). The battery can be used as a single battery or as part of a multicellular battery. The standard contains the technical requirements such as dimensions, materials, energy content, charging methods, information on type testing, quality assurance and storage life as well as marking and packaging. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 140-00-03 AA "Batterien" ("Batteries") of the DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE).
