Equipment set and toolkit for rescuing occupants
Abstract
It is of the utmost importance for rescue workers who initiate a rescue operation at the scene of an accident to gain access to the casualties as quickly as possible as part of the occupant rescue. Critical decisions shall be made in the shortest possible time in order to determine the rescue strategy. In particular, this involves the decision whether access from the outside to the vehicle or system interior can be established more quickly in a non-destructive or destructive manner. This document specifies and standardizes the rescue and tool kit required for a destructive access. The standardized format of the equipment and tools for occupant rescue presented in this document aims to improve the situation described above. The document defines the composition of the tools and equipment as well as their operating and performance parameters.
