Replenishment of ships with liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a fuel - Technical delivery conditions and test criteria for couplings - Part 1: Dry couplings
Versorgung von Schiffen mit LNG als Kraftstoff - Technische Lieferbedingungen und Prüfkriterien für Versorgungskupplungen - Teil 1: Trockenkupplungen
Overview
This standard specifies the performance and test requirements for connection fittings (dry couplings) to be used for the transfer (bunkering) of liquefied natural gas. These couplings form a temporary connection between a fixed or mobile supply facility and a tank or bunker in the ship. The equipment for transferring liquid gases (LNG/LPG/methane) is intended for the following application parameters: - nominal diameters from DN 50 to DN 150; - nominal pressure up to PN 25; - design temperatures from -196 °C to +65 °C. Permanent connections or flange connections as well as screw or quick couplings or self-closing valves are not part of this standard. A further part to this standard "emergency release couplings" is planned. The DIN 86209-1 standard is a test and procedure standard for the refuelling of seagoing vessels. This standard has been prepared by DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology (NSMT), Working Committee NA 132-02-07 AA "Betankungs- und Pipelineschläuche" ("Tubes for refuelling and pipelines").
