DIN EN 13175
LPG Equipment and accessories - Specification and testing for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) pressure vessel valves and fittings; German version EN 13175:2014
Flüssiggas-Geräte und Ausrüstungsteile - Spezifikation und Prüfung für Ventile und Fittinge an Druckbehältern für Flüssiggas (LPG); Deutsche Fassung EN 13175:2014
Overview
DIN EN 13175 specifies minimum requirements for the design and testing of valves, including associated ancillary equipment connected to mobile or static LPG pressure vessels above 150 l water capacity. However, the standard applies neither to pressure relief valves and their ancillary equipment, contents gauges and automotive LPG components nor to refineries or other process plants. With respect to the previous 2008 edition, adaptations regarding the suitability for metallic materials (aluminium alloys and zinc alloys, brass materials and non-metallic lubricants, sealants, adhesives) have been made. Filler valves with overfill protection device and dry disconnect coupling have been introduced. More stringent requirements apply to 3 1/4 inch×6 ACME couplings which require periodic inspection during operation. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 016-00-06 AA "Flüssiggas-Geräte und Ausrüstung; Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 286" ("LPG equipment and accessories; National mirror committee to CEN/TC 286") at DIN.
