Overview

This document specifies a method for the determination of air permeability of soil. The method serves the description for the assessment of the possibility of exchange of soil air with free air (soil respiration).The soil respiration is thereby determined from the size, shape and continuity of cavities (pores) in the soil and is dependent on the texture of each soil, but also, however, on the soil structure and the form of secondary pores.
