Overview
The European Standard EN 14982:2010 specifies a test method for assessing the tangential ring stiffness of risers and shafts for thermoplastics inspection chambers or manholes. It is intended as a test of the structural integrity of risers and shafts and supports product standard DIN EN 13598-2. With respect to edition EN 14982:2006, reference is now made to EN ISO 9969:2007 regarding testing of risers with circular and regular cross-sections. Furthermore, the equation for the shape factor SF has been corrected in clause 8.2. The preliminary work was carried out by WG 20 "Thermoplastics ancillaries for soil and waste discharge and gravity buried drainage and sewerage systems" of CEN/TC 155. The German committee responsible for the revision is Joint Working Committee NA 119-05-28 AA "Kunststoffrohre in der Abwassertechnik" ("Plastics pipes in wastewater engineering") of NAW.
