DIN EN 1796
Plastics piping systems for water supply with or without pressure - Glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP) based on unsaturated polyester resin (UP); German version EN 1796:2013

Overview

This European Standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 155 "Plastics piping systems and ducting systems", the secretariat of which is held by NEN. The work has been carried out by Working Group "Systems of glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics for all applications - Polyester, epoxy and polyester resin based concrete" (WG 14) of CEN/TC 155. For Germany, Joint Working Committee NA 119-05-28 GA (GA NAW/FNK) "Kunststoffrohre in der Abwassertechnik" ("Plastics pipes for use in wastewater engineering") participated in the preparation. This European Standard specifies the required properties of a piping system and its components when made from glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP) based on unsaturated polyester resin (UP) and is intended to be used for water supply (drinking water or raw water) with or without pressure. In a pipework system, pipes and fittings of different nominal pressure and stiffness ratings may be used together.
