Vitrified clay pipe systems for drains and sewers - Part 3: Test methods; German version EN 295-3:2012
Steinzeugrohrsysteme für Abwasserleitungen und -kanäle - Teil 3: Prüfverfahren; Deutsche Fassung EN 295-3:2012
Overview
This European Standard applies for the testing of products manufactured from vitrified clay for which requirements are specified in the following standards: - EN 295-1, pipes, fittings and joints; - EN 295-4, adaptors, connectors and flexible couplings; - EN 295-5, perforated pipes and fittings; - EN 295-6, components of manholes and inspection chambers; and - EN 295-7, pipes and joints for pipe jacking. Vitrified clay pipe systems for drains and sewers are used for drainage of domestic waste water, surface water and rainwater and are generally operated as gravity pipelines. Temporarily increased pressures or permanently low positive pressures are permitted, however. The product standards of this standard series have been prepared under a mandate for the implementation of the Construction Products Directive (89/106/EC) and contain the essential requirements, the compliance to which is necessary within the framework of CE marking for placing these products on the European market. The standard also contains the test methods which may be required by clients for special applications, for example, fatigue strength and resistance to abrasion and to cleaning by high pressure jetting. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 119-05-07 AA "Steinzeugrohre und -schächte für Abwasserkanäle und -leitungen (CEN/TC 165/WG 2)" ("Vitrified clay pipes and manholes for drains and sewers (CEN/TC 165/WG 2)") at DIN.
