Overview
This document gives guidance for the assessment of conformity to be included in the manufacturer's quality plan as part of the quality system. This part of EN 1565 includes: a) requirements for materials, components, joints and assemblies given in EN 1565-1:1998; b) requirements for the manufacturer's quality system; c) definitions and procedures to be applied if third party certification is involved. This document is applicable to solid-wall piping systems made of styrene copolymer blends (SAN+PVC) for soil and waste discharge systems used in gravity drainage systems inside buildings (application area code "B") and for both inside buildings and buried in ground within the building structure (application area code "BD") for the discharge of (low and high temperature) soil and waste. Selection of the field of application is reflected in the marking of the components by "B" or "BD". This Technical Specification is a part of a System Standard for plastic piping systems made of a particular material for a specified application. There is a number of such System Standards. System Standards are based on the results of the work undertaken in ISO/TC 138 "Plastic pipes, fittings and valves for the transport of fluids", which is a Technical Committee of the International Organization of Standardization (ISO). They are supported by separate standards on test methods to which references are made throughout the entire System Standard. The System Standards are consistent with general standards on functional requirements and on recommended practice for installation. EN 1565 consists of the following parts, under the general title "Plastics piping systems for soil and waste discharge (low and high temperature) within the building structure - Styrene copolymer blends (SAN+PVC)": Part 1: Specifications for pipes, fittings and the system, Part 2: Guidance for the assessment of conformity (this CEN/TS). The committee responsible for this document is NA 119-05-28-07 GUA "Gemeinschaftsunterausschuss NAW/FNK: Hausabflussleitungen (CEN/TC 155/WG 6)" ("Joint Working Committee NAW/FNK: Discharge systems inside buildings (CEN/TC 155/WG 6)") at DIN.
