Overview
This document applies for the testing of sealings of packagings made of flexible packaging material, for example, plastics, composite materials as well as lacquered and printed aluminium foils and papers; a sealing layer may be plastics, sealing wax or cold seal coating material. Sealed seams may be done on a laboratory sealing unit or on a packaging machine. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN 55529:2005-09: a) normative references have been updated; b) 5.2.1 "Samples with less than 45°" have been incorporated; c) 5.3.1.1 reference to standards has been incorporated; d) Annex A has been changed from normative to informative; e) Annex B (normative) "Sampling at an oblique angle to the sealing seam" has been incorporated. The revision has been carried out by Working Committee NA 115-02-01 AA "Flexible, flächige Packmittel - Folien, Säcke, Beutel, Tragetaschen" ("Flexible, flat means of packaging - Foils, sacks, bags, carrier bags") of the Packaging Standards Committee (NAVp).
