DIN Standards Committee Packaging

Overview

This document specifies general rules to be used for the compilation of test schedules for complete, filled transport packages intended for use within any typical distribution environment except for packages used for dangerous goods. For a known distribution environment with experimental data available (case 1), this document provides general rules for the compilation of test schedules. For an unknown distribution environment (case 2), this document provides tests in dependence of the mass of the package and planned destination. This document (ISO 4180:2009) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 122 "Packaging" (SC 3 "Performance requirements and tests for means of packaging, packages and unit loads (as required by ISO/TC 122)") and been adopted as EN ISO 4180:2010 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 261 "Packaging", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. The responsible German Committee is NA 115-01-04 AA "Anforderungen und Prüfung" ("Requirements and test") of the Packaging Standards Committee (NAVp).
