DIN Standards Committee Technical Fundamentals

Abstract

This document specifies the designation as well as limits of size and tolerances for helical coil threads for wire inserts in accordance with DIN 8140-1 for selected internal screw threads, nominal diameters from M2 to M68 (coarse thread) and M8 × 1 to M120 × 6 (fine threads), having basic profiles according to DIN ISO 68-1. When screwed into the helical coil thread, the thread inserts in accordance with DIN 8140-1 result in an internal thread with tolerance class 6H according to DIN ISO 965-1.
