Overview
This part of ISO 17450 contains default specifications for the extracted geometry elements (integral or derived) of workpieces that are considered toleranced geometry elements in GPS specifications (dimensional specification, geometric specification or surface finish specification). This part of ISO 17450 is a Geometric Product Specification (GPS) standard and is considered a fundamental GPS standard (see ISO 14638). It affects all links in the chain of standards in the general GPS matrix. The ISO/GPS master plan given in ISO 14638 provides an overview of the ISO/GPS system of which this document is a part. The basic rules of ISO/GPS given in ISO 8015 apply to this document. Unless otherwise stated, the default decision rules given in ISO 14253-1 apply to specifications defined in accordance with this document. This document (EN ISO 17450-3:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 213 "Dimensional and geometrical product specifications and verification" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 290 "Dimensional and geometrical product specification and verification", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 152-03-02 AA "CEN/ISO Geometrische Produktspezifikation und Prüfung" ("CEN/ISO Geometrical product specifications and verification") at DIN Standards Committee Technical Fundamentals (NATG).
