Bolted connections with waisted shank - Part 2: Metric thread with large clearance - Nominal dimensions and limits of size
Abstract
This document specifies the nominal dimensions as well as the limit dimensions for external threads and the tolerance class for internal threads for bolted connections with a nominal diameter range above 11,2 mm up to and including 180 mm (see DIN ISO 965-1) with an expansion shank for tensile tightening methods. The limit dimensions are designed for nuts with a nut height of m=1×d (see DIN 2510-5). Bolted joints with expansion shanks are particularly suitable for structures subjected to changing operating forces and temperatures (machines, pipelines, turbines). This document only includes fine threads in accordance with DIN ISO 965-1 for the nearest smaller pitch. Applicability on other fine threads depends, on a case-by-case basis, on the intended mounting prestressing and the materials of the parts to be joined.
