Overview

This standard applies to single-walled, vertical cylindrical containers (tanks) made of steel for the above-ground storage of water-polluting and non-water-polluting, flammable and non-flammable liquids whose compatibility with the container material has been verified in accordance with DIN 6601. The containers (tanks) are suitable for the storage of liquids with a maximum density of 1,9 kg/l. They may be operated with a maximum internal overpressure of 50 kPa (0,5 bar) and a maximum internal underpressure of 5 kPa (0,05 bar). The effects of earthquakes and flooding are not taken into account in the standard. The responsible standardization committee is Working Committee NA 104-01-02 AA "Werksgefertigte Metalltanks" ("Shop-fabricated metal tanks") at DIN Standards Committee Tank Installations (NATank).
