Multilingual terminologiy work - Basic principles and methods
Abstract
This document provides recommendations for specific problems in multilingual terminology work. This document is aimed at all those involved in multilingual terminology processes in companies and organizations. The document provides the basics of multilingual terminology work by addressing cultural differences and terminological gaps, among other things. Building on this, it addresses problems and challenges that can arise in multilingual terminology work. Methods and possible solutions for managing multilingual terminology and the further use of terminological data in other systems are then presented. This document does not cover translation processes and translation theories, principles and methods of machine translation, language checking processes and does not provide complete chronological process descriptions.
