Detection and alert systems for emergencies under water in swimming pools - Safety requirements and test methods
Erkennungs- und Alarmierungssysteme für Unterwassernotfälle in Schwimmbädern - Sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren
Overview
This standard specifies general safety requirements for detection and alarm systems for underwater emergencies in swimming pools according to DIN EN 15288 (swimming pool types 1, 2 and 3). This standard does not apply to privately used swimming pools. Detection and alarm systems are systems for the automatic detection of underwater emergencies and passing on emergency-related information. An underwater emergency is seen as an event that triggers a rescue measure. The market for detection and alarm systems for underwater emergencies in swimming pools is constantly developing. It is not possible to create all-encompassing safety requirements - as required by the standard - including dimension and design requirements without restricting design possibilities and preventing innovative and new but safe products. Detection and alarm systems are designed to assist supervisors in detecting underwater emergencies in swimming pools. The systems indicated in this standard do not allow all water emergencies to be reliably detected (for example persons drifting on or below the water surface). DIN committee NA 112-05-01 AA "Öffentlich genutzte Schwimmbadanlagen und -geräte" ("Public used swimming pool facilities and equipment") is responsible for this standard.
