Standardization - Part 12: Guidelines for the inclusion of safety aspects in standards (ISO/IEC Guide 51:2014)

Title (German)

Normungsarbeit - Teil 12: Leitfaden für die Aufnahme von Sicherheitsaspekten in Normen (ISO/IEC Guide 51:2014)

Overview

The standard contains specfications for the presentation of standards concerning safety regulations. It contains the German version of ISO/IEC Guide 51 "Safety aspects - Guidelines for their inclusion in standards", additional specifications for purely national standards concerning safety regulations as well as examples of warnings in testing standards. The standard specifies a structure for the inclusion of safety aspects in standards. It is based on a risk-based approach and refers to the entire lifecycle of a product, a method or a service. This Guide provides requirements and recommendations for the drafters of standards for the inclusion of safety aspects in standards. It is applicable to any safety aspect related to people, property or the environment, or to a combination of these (for example, it can be applicable to people only, or to people and property, or to people, property and the environment). The term "products and systems" used throughout this Guide includes products, processes, services and systems. DIN 820-12 has been prepared by Working Committee NA 173-00-02 AA "Gestaltung von Normen" ("Presentation of standards") at the Principles of Standardization Standards Committee (NAGLN) at DIN e. V., in collaboration with the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
