Overview

This standard specifies safety requirements and test methods related to materials, safety, performance and consumer information for classified floating leisure articles for use on and in the water according to EN 15649-1. This document is applicable with EN 15649-1 and EN 15649-2. This standard is applicable for class B floating leisure articles for use on and in the water according to EN 15649-1 regardless of whether the buoyancy is achieved by inflation or inherent buoyant material. Class B devices provide a buoyant structure with one or more body openings into which the user is positioned partly immersed. This standard is a product standard which deals in particular with aspects of product safety. It is closely linked to DIN EN 15649-1, DIN EN 15649-2, DIN EN 15649-3, DIN EN 15649-4, DIN EN 15649-5, DIN EN 15649-6. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 112-05-09 AA "Aufblasbare schwimmende Freizeitgeräte einschließlich aufblasbarer Boote und Zubehör" ("Inflatable floating leisure articles including inflatable boats and mountings") at DIN.
