Body protection
The working committee NA 112-04-03 AA "Body protection" of the Sports Equipment Standards Committee is responsible for the standardisation of body protection equipment for sporting competitions, training and leisure activities. Under this category fall e. g. protective equipments for martial arts, soccer, volleyball, field- and ice-hockey, horseback riding, fencing and roller skating. The safety related standards are listed in the Directory 1 of GPSG (law for safety of equipment and products). Important aspects of the standardisation of "body protection equipments" are e. g. safety requirements, test methods and marking. Germany also holds the secretariat of the European working group CEN/TC 162/WG 11 "Body protection for sports" and nominates its convenor. Delegates of this committee represent the German interests in standardisation on European and international level, respectively.
