Cycles for common and athletic use
This committee is responsible for the standardisation in the field of bicycles. Among them are BMX-bicycles, city- and trekking-bicycles, bicycles for young children, mountain-bicycles, racing bicycles, EPAC bicycles and special cycles. The safety related standards are, respectively will be, listed in the Directory 1 of GPSG (law for safety of equipment and products) which is introducing standards of products in conformity with the Directive 2001/95/EC on general product safety. Important aspects are e.g. safety related requirements, test methods and marking. Germany also holds the secretariat of the European working group CEN/TC 333/WG 1 "Cycles for common use" and assigns its convenor. Additionally, delegates of this committee represent the German standardisation interests in further working groups on European level.
